Sophia-Louise Espindola von Wrangell is an artist, film director, author, consultant, a passionate teacher and last but not least, an expert in communication and perception.
In 1977 Sophia-Louise apprenticed with Corneliu Braescu, Emeritus painter of Romania, and has been painting ever since. Not only do her paintings vary in style, some of them create a completely new style. No matter the medium, she seeks to capture the soul more than the subject.
Since 1983 her company Visart produced commercials (Charlie, Revlon, Quaker), 21 screenplays for feature films awarded, among others, the German Silver Bear (Berlinale 97), the Prize of the German Critique, and a NY Times Critic’s Pick. With Visart, Sophia produced and directed 19 short films, a.o. “Maria” and “Re-encuentros”. In 2002 she founded Sophia’s Galaxy, Art For Your Heart-Brain. Sophia paints on canvas and on digital media, and constantly increases her bank of great quality photography.
Moving Paintings, a new art genre, are the result of the multimedia compendium of her diverse interests.
